Before you jump into the clouds
We’ve compiled the most frequently asked questions we receive from those planning their first jump. Here, you’ll find everything you need to know before your aerial adventure—in an accessible and reassuring format.
What is the weight limit for jumping?
For a tandem jump the limit is 110 kg, for jumps in the AFF parachute course the limit is 115 kg.
At what age can you jump?
Tandem jumps are available for those who are 140 cm tall and above. There is no age limit, but minors must have parental consent on-site. AFF skydiving training is available for ages 14 and up.
What if the weather is bad for a jump?
If weather conditions are unsuitable (precipitation, strong winds, or very low clouds), we must postpone the jump. To do this, we will contact you and work with you to select a new jump date.
How long is a jump voucher valid?
Vouchers are typically valid for one year from the date of purchase. It’s also possible to extend the voucher for another season (a fee of PLN 400 applies).
How should you prepare for a jump?
Just dress in comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions on the ground. Lace-up athletic shoes are also a must. If you have long hair, a hair tie will be useful. You can also jump with glasses (we have special goggles), although if you also wear contact lenses, contact lenses will certainly be more comfortable.
What are the health contraindications to jumping?
There aren’t many, but you should be aware of them before jumping: epilepsy, a prolapsed shoulder, severe blood pressure problems or serious heart disease, recent surgery (less than 6 months), pregnancy or the postpartum period. Furthermore, jumping under the influence of alcohol or other psychoactive substances is not permitted.
What months is the skydiving season?
It all depends on the weather, but usually the skydiving season lasts from April to the end of October.
How long before the jump time should you arrive at the airport?
It’s best to arrive about 60 minutes before your jump. To avoid time pressure, please allow about 3 hours for your time at the airport, although the experience itself will be shorter (the whole experience usually takes about 30-40 minutes). There’s a bar and a lounge area on site, so you’re sure to have a great time outdoors.
Do I receive any certificate or license after the course?
Upon completion, each course participant receives a certificate, a commemorative medal, and a “What’s Next After AFF” booklet with safe scenarios for solo jumps. However, the certificate is not a parachute license. You can receive a Polish license after 50 jumps or an American license (also available through us) after 25 jumps.
How many jumps are there in the course?
There is no set number of jumps in the AFF course; we jump until we master the basic skills that will allow you to be safe in the air. A minimum of 5 jumps is required, but a standard 6-8 jumps is recommended.
Are medical tests required for the AFF course?
No, there is no such requirement.
Is a tandem jump mandatory before the AFF course?
Absolutely not. There are many skydivers who have never done a tandem jump. Many people prefer to do their first tandem jump so they don’t have to worry about a parachute and can get used to getting out of the plane and freefall. But it’s by no means a requirement.
